Estefanía Castañeda Pérez, College of Pennsylvania
Estefanía Castañeda Pérez is a postdoc on the Penn Migration Initiative on the College of Pennsylvania. Educated as an interdisciplinary researcher in political science, her analysis pursuits embody border policing, psychological well being amongst border-crossing populations, conceptualization and penalties of violence and border politics. Her dissertation examined how the lives of border commuters are affected by their border crossing experiences and interactions with U.S. Customs and Border Safety officers. Her analysis has been supported by the APSA Doctoral Dissertation Analysis Enchancment Grant, the Nationwide Science Basis, and the Ford Basis. Her work has been revealed in Politics, teams and identities, and in educational blogs corresponding to NACLA and the NYU Latinx Mission Intervenxions Weblog. Castañeda Pérez holds a grasp’s diploma in political science from UCLA and a bachelor’s diploma in political science with an honors minor in interdisciplinary research from San Diego State College.
About APSA Advancing Analysis Grants for Early Profession Students
APSA Variety and Inclusion Advancing Analysis Grants present assist for the development of researchers from traditionally underrepresented racial and ethnic teams and for analysis that examines political science phenomena that have an effect on traditionally underserved communities and underrepresented teams and societies. In July 2023, APSA awarded six tasks to the APSA Variety and Inclusion Advancing Analysis Grant for Early Profession Students for a complete of $12,000. In December 2023, APSA awarded three extra tasks.
